What do I regret?

Regret can also be taboo, but without it are we authentic?

It’s fascinating to me to hear how different people respond to this question. Some unburden themselves of guilt and hidden trauma, others say there are no regrets, some edit their regrets out later … My sense it that our wounds and vulnerabilities are what make us real. If your descendants read about this part of you they may empathise and recognise your humanity more.

The most wise and moving poem I have heard about regret is by Stephen Jenkinson which he recites in this video at 17.35 minutes in (although I recommend watching it all sometime): https://youtu.be/I-Ll8SCNZ4E
